Nestled along Red Lion Road in Bear, Delaware, Redlion Inn Liquors and Tavern stands out as a welcoming blend of a well-stocked liquor store and a charming neighborhood sports bar. This dual-concept venue offers a unique and inviting atmosphere where liquor enthusiasts and casual bar-goers alike can feel right at home.
The liquor store portion is anything but ordinary. Customers like Ayerynn rave about the team’s attentiveness and personal touch—seemingly able to track down even the most elusive favorites, such as the sought-after 7 Moons wine. This level of customer care reveals a passionate and knowledgeable staff who truly take pride in delivering exactly what their patrons want, making every visit feel personalized and special.
As a sports bar, Redlion Inn has an old-school charm that instantly evokes the comforting ambiance of a classic local haunt. Regulars speak fondly of the friendly vibe and genuine camaraderie that fills the space. Glenn Kline’s comment about “good people” and “great place to stop in and see the locals” perfectly captures this spirit. Whether you're aiming for a casual night out or a lively afternoon of games, the bar’s offerings cater to a diverse crowd.
Redlion Inn’s game options add a layer of fun that goes beyond the typical tavern experience. Andrew Keiser highlights the "old school pinball" machines and well-maintained pool tables, complemented by reasonably priced beers. On Saturdays, the free pool games become a perfect reason to gather with friends, fostering a relaxed, engaging environment.
Beyond games and drinks, the tavern’s food menu consistently earns praise for its quality and comfort. Lt T encapsulates the experience with a succinct “good place, cold beer, good food and friendly people.” It’s this collective attention to service and quality that makes every visit feel like returning to a familiar, well-loved corner bar—something William Kay explicitly connects to, comparing it to the beloved hangouts back home in Philly.
In sum, Redlion Inn Liquors and Tavern is much more than a simple stop for drinks. It's a community hub where excellent service, a great selection of beverages, welcoming company, and an inviting, nostalgia-infused atmosphere come together to create a truly rewarding experience. Whether you're hunting for a special bottle or settling in for a night of pool, darts, and good conversation, Redlion Inn promises a genuine local gem worth frequenting.
My girlfriend off-handedly mentioned that no liquor store she's been to carries her favorite wine, 7 Moons. Next time we came in, they had it in stock. Unbelievably nice people here. As for the bar, it's nice and quiet and there's free pool on Saturdays. All-around good place
